APL1 Prestige Cabin Lift installation – Virginia Water home
on 9 May 2016, 01:00PM

During this recent project the Amalgamated Platform Lifts team worked closely with the clients architect to ensure the new home lift would fit perfectly into this uniquely beautiful home. Our brief was to ensure the cabin lift provided comfortable disabled access between the two ground floor levels and the first floor, enabling a wheelchair user free access around the house. The finished lift had to be relatively unnoticed and in keeping with its surroundings.

Our technical engineers were able to work with the architect to identify an area of unused corridor adjacent to the study at the ground floor level. This allowed access to both ground floor levels and achieve 1st floor access via a linen cupboard. The linen cupboard was of sufficient size to accommodate the lift shaft and a discrete lift lobby.

The APL1 Prestige was used as it accommodates unique flexibility with finishes, shaft size and design layout. The clients were very keen to ensure there impressive panelled study was not compromised in any way, therefore the new bronze effect two stage automatic doors were concealed behind a panelled door. This door concealed the APL1 lift from guest and visitors but gave an impressive visual impact when the door was opened. This project was completed on time and within budget. The clients are thrilled with their new lift installation which has empowered them to have complete freedom and independence in their home.

Our project management team ensured all works were carried out consecutively to complete the project in the shortest time possible whilst our client enjoyed their holiday.
