For schools, colleges and universities requiring platform lifts, older buildings often have great challenges when it comes to installing them in the space available, in order to meet disability legislation requirements.
Additionally, high numbers of staff and students are on the move at particular times throughout the day. Our platform lifts provide years of safe operation allowing access for less able (impaired mobility), students, teachers and parents.
We also offer additional security with optional key operation or swipe cards to ensure only staff or designated students can access the platform lift. We also consider the aesthetics of how the platform lift will look and fit into your building to ensure it is pleasing, comfortable and safe for all users.
We are able to offer complete builders’ work and project management support to ensure that work is carried out quickly and safely with minimum disruption to your school, college or university by starting and completing work during holiday time.
Legislation requires that organisations comply with the Equality Act, which replaced the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 (DDA) in October 2010. Our expertise and experience means that you can be confident that we are able to fully advise you in meeting these requirements.

The architects specified our APL2 Elite Cabin Lift for the new prestigious Sixth Form Centre. We had successfully completed two earlier installations at the school and we were a natural choice for the client. The brief was to install a platform lift that handled the expected high usage by students, teachers, parents, visitors and for transporting goods and books to the library on the 2nd floor. It is reliable, cost effective and has an impressive presence within the new ‘flagship’ building.View the APL2
